October 2009 saw Mahe Drysdale and Duncan Grant both win Gold Medals and secure their World Champion titles in KIRS boats at the World Rowing Championships in Poznan.
Fourth-time World Champion Mahe Drysdale shattered the world’s best time of 6.33 - and earned himself another gold - in a KIRS 8.35W black boat.
Duncan Grant retained his third lightweight single sculls world championship title with a gold - leading from the front of the race and finishing a second and a half faster than Greek Vasileios Polymeros and Japan’s Daisaku Takeda.
August 2009 saw Kiwi International Rowing Skiffs shift to their new purpose-built 1100 sqm premises on Victoria Road to cope with the expansion of the business. Shifting over a period of 4 weeks ensured that there was no loss to production. The larger premises has allowed us to create a more efficient factory floor. We have upgraded and reconditioned all plant and equipment.
Renowned for building solid relationships with customers, KIRS appointed Simon Lack as Operations Manager in 2008 to ensure that excellent communication levels are provided to clients and suppliers.
